Seat Exeo Diesel Rough Running Engine

I am writing to seek assistance with an issue affecting my 2011 Seat Exeo diesel, which currently has 68161 km on the odometer. The engine is exhibiting rough running characteristics, accompanied by the illumination of the check engine light. Diagnostic interrogation of the engine control unit reveals an error pertaining to the reset quantity drift compensation. Based on preliminary assessments, a defective injection valve/injector is suspected. I would appreciate any insights or recommendations regarding potential diagnostic procedures or rectification strategies.

I had a similar issue with my Exeo. Rough running and the check engine light illuminated. Have you checked the airflow sensors? They can sometimes cause similar symptoms before more serious issues manifest. It might be worth investigating before assuming the worst.

Thank you for your input. Regarding the airflow sensors, did you experience any specific error codes related to them, or was it more of a process of elimination? Also, were there any noticeable changes in fuel economy or performance tuning issues prior to the check engine light appearing?

In my case, there were no specific error codes for the airflow sensors. It was more of a process of elimination, as the symptoms were consistent with other potential issues. The rough running was quite noticeable, and there was a slight decrease in fuel economy. I would recommend taking it to a workshop. They can perform a proper diagnosis and reset procedure, if necessary.

I appreciate you taking the time to share your insights. I took your advice and consulted with a trusted workshop. As suspected, the issue was indeed a defective injector. After replacing it and performing the reset quantity drift compensation, the engine is now running smoothly again. The total repair cost was 515€.
