Seat Exeo diesel rough start and fuel consumption

My 2008 Seat Exeo diesel is giving me grief. Starts rough, drinks fuel like crazy, feels sluggish, idles like a tractor, and even stalls sometimes. Mileage is at 88562 km. I suspect a dirty injection valve. Could it be the injection nozzle defective?

I had similar misfire issues with my Exeo. Also a diesel engine. Have you checked the injectors?

Injectors, huh? How'd you figure that out? Any specific symptoms you noticed?

Well, the uneven idling and poor starting pointed to it. Eventually, the engine stalled completely a couple of times. A diagnostic check confirmed it. I'd get it checked professionally; could save you money and time in the long run.

Thanks for the heads up! Dropped it at the workshop, and you nailed it - faulty injector. Cost me 515€ to repair, but at least it runs smooth now!
