Seat Exeo Diesel Uneven Idling

My 2012 Seat Exeo with a diesel engine is giving me some trouble. It has 177880 km on the clock. I'm getting an error stored in the error memory, and the idling is pretty uneven. I suspect it's a defective engine mount. From what I've read, the likely cause is a defective cable or plug connection on the component. Has anyone experienced something similar?

The likely cause was identified as a defective cable or plug connection on the component. After inspection and confirmation from a workshop, the issue was resolved by addressing the faulty cable or plug connection, resulting in smooth idling.

I had a similar issue with my old Renault. The symptoms were almost identical, uneven idling and an error code related to a failed mount. In my case, it turned out to be a defective engine rubber mount. Have you checked the mount itself for any visible damage or cracks? Also, give the cable and plug a thorough inspection for corrosion or loose connections.

Thanks for the quick reply. When you say 'defective engine rubber mount', do you mean the actual rubber part was torn or something? I visually inspected it, but didn't see anything obvious.

Yes, the rubber part of the mount was visibly cracked and degraded on mine. If you can't see anything obvious, it might still be the issue. Sometimes the damage is subtle. Since you suspect the cable or plug, and you're getting an error code, it's worth checking those thoroughly with a multimeter if you have one. Otherwise, I'd suggest taking it to a workshop. They can diagnose it properly and replace the failed mount if needed.

The workshop confirmed it was indeed the cable or plug connection on the motor mount. 95€ later and the Exeo is idling smoothly again. Thanks for the help!
