Seat Exeo electrical malfunction and navigation failure
Summary of the thread
A Seat Exeo owner experienced a general electrical malfunction and a non-functional navigation system, with an error indicating implausible programming of the control unit. The issue was suspected to be related to vehicle software. A workshop confirmed the problem as an ECU programming issue, and a software refresh resolved the error, restoring the navigation system.

Software revisions for the ECU? I've only ever refreshed the maps on the navigation. Is this something I can do myself, or is it workshop territory?

Best bet is to take it to a workshop. They can perform a proper software refresh. In my case, a simple refresh fixed the control module issue, but it requires specific tools and software.

Took it to a trusted workshop, and they confirmed the ECU programming issue. A software refresh, as suggested, resolved the error, and the navigation is working again. Total cost was 240€. Thanks for the insight.

Sounds like ECU problems. I had a similar issue with my Seat Leon; the onboard diagnostics kept throwing up errors. Have you checked for any software revisions?
