Thanks for the info! Where exactly is the purge valve located? How would I go about checking it? I am not sure where to look for it.

The purge valve is usually somewhere near the engine, often attached to the intake manifold. There should be a vacuum line running from it to the charcoal canister. Finding it can be tricky depending on the specific engine layout. Without proper tools, it's hard to say for sure how to check it. You might be able to feel if it's clicking when the engine is running, which would suggest it's at least trying to operate. Diagnosing a purge valve properly often requires a scan tool to monitor its function. Given the symptoms and your suspicion of the charcoal filter, I'd tentatively stick with that as the prime suspect. A saturated or damaged filter will definitely mess with the fuel tank pressure and could lead to both the stalling and the check engine light. I'd probably recommend taking it to a workshop. They can do a proper smoke test of the system and pinpoint the exact location of the leak, if there is any.

It was the charcoal filter. The workshop replaced it for 275€. Runs smoothly now. Thanks for your help!

A fuel tank ventilation leak on a 2010 Exeo is not ideal. Check engine light and stalling? Sounds like unmetered air getting in and messing with the air flow. First, have you checked the fuel cap? A loose or faulty one can sometimes cause similar symptoms and throw off the pressure sensor readings. Is there any noticeable fuel smell, especially after filling up? It could give you a clue. The purge valve might also be worth investigating. It could be stuck open, creating a vacuum leak. A defective charcoal filter is a strong possibility. When they get saturated, they can restrict air flow and cause pressure issues in the fuel tank.
