Seat Exeo gearbox slipping ABS fault suspected

My 2013 Seat Exeo with a diesel engine is giving me trouble. It has about 121358 km on the clock. The transfer case seems stuck in some kind of limp mode. Gearbox slips and shifts are not clean. I suspect it may be consequential faults stemming from the ABS system. Any ideas?

Summary of the thread

A 2013 Seat Exeo is experiencing gearbox slipping and unclean shifts, suspected to be linked to an ABS fault. The issue may cause the car to enter limp mode. Diagnostic trouble codes suggest the ABS system as a potential cause. It is recommended to have the ABS system checked at a workshop to resolve the problem.

I also drive a Seat Exeo. I had a similar issue with the gearbox acting up and the car seemed to go into limp home mode. Have you had the diagnostic trouble codes read? That might give you a clearer picture.

Yes, I had the codes read. They seem to point towards issues related to the ABS system. Did your diagnostic trouble codes point to a fault in the ABS control module as well?

Indeed, the ABS was the culprit in my case too. The car went into limp mode because of that. I advise getting it checked at a workshop.

Good to know the issue was resolved without incurring costs. I will monitor the ABS system moving forward.
