Seat Exeo Oil Sensor Fault

Oil level sensor signal faulty on my 2012 Seat Exeo diesel. Speedo's going nuts with error messages and warning lights, plus the oil pressure warning lamp's on. Error code points to the oil sensor. Thinking it's a wiring issue, anyone seen this before?

Had a similar issue on my old Renault Megane. The oil sensor was throwing a fit. Check the wiring harness and the connector itself. Could be corrosion or a loose connection. Also, have you checked the oil level manually with the dipstick? Just to be sure it's not a real low oil pressure situation?

Cheers. Whereabouts is the oil sensor located? Is it easy enough to get to?

On the Megane, it was near the oil filter, pretty accessible. Given the symptoms and the error code, and that you've got the oil pressure lamp on as well, it might be worth getting it checked by a workshop. Just to be on the safe side. Could save you a blown engine down the line. They said the likely cause is cable or plug connection of the component being defective.

Yep, cleared the error and all good now. 95€ well spent. Cheers for the info!
