Seat Exeo Overheating Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2012 Seat Exeo is experiencing engine overheating, particularly in traffic, due to the electric fan not consistently operating. The suspected cause is a faulty cable or plug connection to the fan's electric motor. A similar issue was resolved by addressing a corroded connector, suggesting that checking the fan motor and wiring by a professional could fix the problem. The issue was ultimately resolved by repairing a faulty connection to the electric fan, restoring the cooling system's functionality.

Intermittent to be honest. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. When it doesn't, the engine temperature rises pretty quickly. What was the actual issue with yours, if you don't mind me asking?

Yep, mine was doing the same thing. Intermittent fan operation leading to vehicle overheating. Turned out to be a corroded connector. I'd suggest getting it checked out by a professional. They'll be able to test the electric fan motor and wiring properly.

Took it to a local garage. It was a dodgy connection to the electric fan. 95€ later and the cooling system is back to normal. Thanks for the advice!

Sounds familiar. I had a similar problem with my Exeo. Is the electric fan not kicking in at all, or is it intermittent? Could be a simple fix.
