Seat Exeo power window issue

I'm experiencing an issue with my 2010 Seat Exeo, gasoline engine, with approximately 193156 km on the clock. Since replacing the vehicle battery, the power windows have stopped working. The window switch appears unresponsive, and an error is stored, but I don't have the specific code. I suspect this may be related to a window regulator initialization. I've checked the fuses, and they seem fine. Could this be an initialization problem, and can it be resolved without special equipment?

Sounds like a similar problem I had with my Exeo. Have you tried a window reset procedure? Sometimes the window controls get confused after a power interruption. Try holding the window switch down until it's fully open, then keep holding it for a few seconds. Repeat the process going up. It might do the trick.

Thanks for the suggestion. I've seen a few things about a window reset, but I'm not sure if I'm doing it correctly. When you say 'holding', do you mean even after the window is fully open or closed? And is there a specific duration I should be holding the window switch?

Yes, hold even after it's fully open or closed. A few seconds should do it, maybe 5-10. If that doesn't work, it might be something more serious with the window regulator itself, or perhaps the car electronics need a proper reset via diagnostics. Probably best to get it checked at a workshop.

The problem is now fixed. I went to a local workshop, and they said the window regulator needed re-initialization after the battery change. The car electronics are a bit sensitive, it seems. The total cost was 290€. Thanks for the help!
