Seat Exeo running lean

My 2009 Seat Exeo with a gasoline engine is giving me headaches. It feels like it's running lean, with reduced power, and the check engine light is on. It idles rough and jerks when I accelerate. Could it be a defective injection valve?

I had a similar problem with my Exeo. Reduced power and the engine light. Have you checked the oxygen sensor or the EGR valve? Sometimes a faulty sensor can mess with the air-fuel ratio and cause those symptoms.

How did you figure out it was the oxygen sensor or EGR valve? Were there any other symptoms besides the engine light?

The O2 sensor was the culprit in the past, but this time, the symptoms sounded familiar, but it was actually a faulty fuel injector. That can also cause a lean mixture. Honestly, without proper diagnostics, it's hard to be sure. Maybe best to get it checked at a workshop.

Took it to a mechanic, and they confirmed it was a faulty fuel injector. Replaced all four, cost me 515€, but the Exeo is running smoothly again. Thanks for the advice!
