Seat Exeo Starting Issues

Hi, I'm having some starting issues with my 2013 Seat Exeo (gasoline engine) with 104305 km on the clock. The car starts poorly, almost like the battery is dead. After some testing, it seems the terminal 30 continuous plus is interrupted. I suspect a heavily discharged or defective battery. Could this also indicate a deeper electrical fault, like a short circuit somewhere, or maybe something related to the ignition switch? Any advice would be appreciated.

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my Exeo some time back, though I can't remember the exact year. The battery kept draining, and it was hard to start. Have you checked for any obvious voltage drop somewhere? Maybe something is staying on when it shouldn't be.

Thanks for the quick response! When you say you had a similar issue, was it also related to the terminal 30 continuous plus? And did you also see any indication of a short circuit or problems with the charging system before the battery completely died?

Yeah, I had the same interrupted terminal 30 thing. At first, I thought it was a charging system issue, but the alternator seemed fine. Honestly, I'd suggest getting it checked out at a workshop. They can properly diagnose the electrical fault and rule out any serious issues before you start throwing parts at it.

Big thanks! The problem was exactly as described. I ended up replacing the battery; it was heavily discharged and not holding a charge. Total cost was 290€, but at least the Exeo is starting reliably now. Appreciate the help with this electrical fault!
