Seat Exeo starting problem

My 2013 Seat Exeo with a gasoline engine, having covered 131400 km, is having a starting issue. Sometimes it won't start. Other times, the engine shuts off while driving, or runs roughly. Could this be the ignition switch or something with the ignition coil?

I had a similar starting issue with my Exeo. Check the connections to the starter motor, it's worth inspecting.

Where is the starter motor connection located?

My car had identical symptoms. It could be a number of things, but I suggest taking it to a workshop if you're not comfortable checking the electrical system. It sounds like an intermittent fault, which could be difficult to diagnose without the right equipment.

It was a defective fuse for the ignition switch. Replacing it fixed the problem. The cost was 52€.
