Seat Exeo Suspension Issues

Okay, so I'm officially losing my mind! My 2012 Seat Exeo with a gasoline engine is giving me grief. Got this stupid warning light on the dash, an error stored about damping adjustment, and the ride is like being in a washing machine at 142323 km. Seriously affecting the ride comfort and car handling. I'm no mechanic, but could a dodgy connection really mess up the entire vehicle suspension and damping like that?

Sounds like a faulty connection to the damping control unit. I drive an Exeo as well and had similar problems a while back. Was the warning light constant, or just intermittent?

Intermittent at first, then constant. What exactly do you mean by 'damping control unit'?

The damping control unit adjusts the damping (or 'shock absorber') settings for each wheel. It changes how stiff or soft the suspension is. If the connection is bad, it can cause unpredictable damping, which you'll feel as a bumpy ride and see as an error. My light was intermittent. The garage said it was the plug, they cleaned it, but they suggested that a replacement would solve the issue eventually and improve the car handling. I'd take yours to a workshop.

Dude, thanks a million for the heads-up! Took it to the shop, and you nailed it - dodgy plug on the damping control unit. 95€ later and it's sorted. No more back-breaking ride!
