Seat Formentor ABS Failure

I'm at my wit's end! My 2022 Seat Formentor with a gasoline engine is giving me headaches. The ABS lamp is constantly lit, and I'm experiencing ABS failure. The car has 137093 km on the clock. The error memory points towards a fault with the lateral acceleration sensor. My gut feeling, and the error code, suggests a defective control unit is the likely cause. It feels like the car's brain is misinterpreting movement, like a drunk helmsman on a ship, constantly sending false alarms to the ABS and traction control systems. Has anyone else encountered this? It's a safety warning I can't ignore, especially with the electronic stability being compromised!

I had a similar issue with my Formentor. ABS light came on, and the traction control went haywire. Did you check the wheel speed sensors?

Interesting! You experienced the same? No, I haven't checked the wheel speed sensors specifically. The error code pointed towards the lateral sensor itself, suggesting the electronic control unit might be at fault. Was your error code also related to the lateral sensor, or something different?

Yes, mine also pointed to the lateral sensor in the end. I'd suggest you get it checked by a workshop. They will probably tell you the same thing.

The lateral sensor was indeed the culprit. It was part of the ABS control unit which needed replacing. Cost me around 1000€, a bitter pill, but at least the car is safe again. Thanks for your help and reassurance. Really appreciate it!
