Seat Formentor Air Conditioning Problem

Whoa, sounds rough! I had something similar happen with my Seat Formentor, although my mileage wasn't quite as high. Is the climate control display acting wonky at all? When mine went, the auto refrigerant stopped flowing and the display flickered before the whole car air conditioning system died. I hope it isn't the compressor itself!

Interesting. The climate control display seems normal, no flickering or unusual behavior. Did you also get a warning light on the speedometer? Also, do you remember what the repair involved, specifically what parts were replaced?

Yeah, the warning light definitely came on. As for the repair, they initially suspected the compressor itself, but further investigation pointed to the control unit being the culprit. They replaced the AC control unit and did a full system recharge of the auto refrigerant. It's been working fine ever since. I'd suggest getting a second opinion from a reputable mechanic specializing in car air conditioning before committing to a compressor replacement.

Following your advice, I took the Formentor to a trusted workshop. They confirmed the diagnosis: a faulty air conditioning control unit. After replacement and system recharge, the cooling system is now functioning correctly. Final bill came to 980€. Thanks for your helpful insights.
