Seat Formentor Audio Problems

I'm getting pretty annoyed. My 2020 Seat Formentor with a gasoline engine is having audio issues. The system is completely dead. I've got 188750 km on the clock. Basically, no audio output whatsoever. I'm suspecting it might be the bass speaker, but I wanted to get some other opinions before I start tearing things apart. Has anyone else had this problem?

That's a frustrating issue. I experienced something similar with my Formentor. Was the sound distortion present across all audio sources, or just specific ones? Did you notice any sound quality degradation before the radio silence?

Good question, I should have mentioned that. The sound quality had been declining slowly over the last few weeks, almost imperceptible, now that I think about it. And yes, the audio connectivity problem is across all sources: radio, USB audio, everything is silent

Okay, given the gradual decline in sound quality and the complete radio silence across all sources, it does sound like a speaker issue, potentially the bass speaker as you suspected. It's not unheard of. While you could try to diagnose it yourself, with that mileage, I'd recommend taking it to a trusted workshop. They'll have the equipment to properly diagnose and replace the speaker if needed.

I took the Formentor to the workshop. It was indeed the bass speaker. A new one is installed, and the audio is back to normal. Cost me 280€, but at least I can enjoy music again. Thanks for the advice!
