Seat Formentor Automatic Transmission Issue

I've got a bit of a situation with my 2020 Seat Formentor. It's the gasoline engine model, and it's done 72457 km. The check engine light is on, along with the transmission indicator. Getting some gearbox slippage, unclean shifts, and a grinding noise when it changes gears. Plugged it into a reader and it's throwing up an error. Suspecting it's the automatic transmission torque converter. Anyone had this before?

Whoa, sounds rough! I had similar issues with my old Renault Megane. The auto transmission was acting up and making weird noises. Check engine light was on too. Could be the auto transmission fluid level is low?

Interesting. The Renault is a totally different beast. When you say 'similar issues', do you mean grinding noises and slipping gears too? Did it also throw an error code? And what was the eventual fix?

Yeah, grinding noises for sure, especially between 2nd and 3rd. And yes, error code as well. I can't remember exactly which one, but it pointed towards the auto transmission. I eventually took it to a workshop and they confirmed it: converter fault. Best get it checked.

Just got the Formentor back from the shop. They confirmed it was the torque converter in the automatic gearbox. Cost me 2120€, ouch! But at least it's running smoothly again. Thanks for the advice.
