Seat Formentor Brake Light Failure

When yours happened, did the error message in the infotainment system specifically mention the brake light, or was it a more generic electrical fault type of message? Trying to narrow down if it's definitely the brake switch or something more complex before taking it to a professional.

Yes, the infotainment display was showing an error related to the brake light specifically, but honestly, I'd recommend getting it checked at a workshop. I procrastinated, and I was worried about some damage to the cars wiring loom. It could potentially be a simple fix with the brake switch, but modern cars are so complex. I was lucky and the error disappeared by itself, and I didn't have to pay anything.

The problem is solved. It turns out I was slightly pressing the brake pedal while adjusting the driver seat, which triggered the error. I feel a bit silly now, but at least it was an easy fix and didn't cost me anything. Thanks for your help and the warning about potential workshop costs. I will be more careful in the future.

Oh my goodness, that sounds like a problem. I think I had a similar experience with my Seat Formentor too, though I can't remember the exact model year now. All the warning lights lit up. Was it just the brake light, or were any other tail lights affected? I really hope it's not an expensive electrical issue.
