Seat Formentor climate control problem

I am experiencing an issue with the climate control system in my 2023 Seat Formentor with a gasoline engine. The vehicle has approximately 103765 km. The blower motor is not functioning. After conducting a scan using an OBD-II reader, the fault code indicates a problem with the AUC sensor. The AUC sensor, also known as an odor sensor, controls the auto recirculation function. Based on my research, a plausible cause for this issue is a defective cable or plug connection to the AUC sensor itself. Could a faulty AUC sensor prevent the blower motor from operating at all, or is this component only responsible for controlling the air recirculation flap?

This is interesting. I had a similar problem with my BMW AUC sensor in my previous car, a 2018 BMW 3 Series. The blower motor would intermittently stop working. Did you check the fuse for the climate control system? Sometimes a simple blown fuse can cause these issues. When you say 'AUC sensor,' are you referring to the auto recirculation sensor that detects pollutants and odours, and automatically switches the climate control to recirculate the air inside the cabin?

Thank you for your input. Yes, the AUC sensor I am referring to is the auto recirculation sensor. I did check the fuses related to the climate control system, and they appear to be in good condition. However, I am not entirely sure how the AUC sensor is wired into the blower motor circuit. Could a faulty signal from the AUC sensor directly disable the blower motor, or is it more likely to affect the air recirculation flap and perhaps indirectly impact the blower?

Okay, since you have already checked the fuses, it does sound like a deeper issue. In my BMW, the faulty AUC sensor caused the climate control to behave erratically, including the blower stopping. It appears that, although responsible for the auto recirculation, the AUC sensor may provide inputs to the climate control module and impact the blower operation. Given the information you have, it would be beneficial to have a workshop inspect the sensor's wiring and connection. They will likely be able to pinpoint whether it is a faulty connection or a defective sensor.

The workshop confirmed a defective connection to the AUC sensor. After they repaired the cable/plug, everything is working as expected now. The bill came to 95€.
