Seat Formentor Cruise Control Problem
Summary of the thread
A 2021 Seat Formentor with a gasoline engine experienced a cruise control failure, with an error appearing in the system memory. The initial suspicion was a cable or plug issue, possibly related to the throttle position or the clock spring in the steering wheel. Suggestions included checking the brake light switch and speed sensor, as these can affect cruise control functionality. Ultimately, a workshop identified and resolved a faulty connection, restoring the cruise control system.

Where exactly did you find the faulty connection on your BMW? Was it near the steering wheel or closer to the throttle position sensor?

On the BMW, it ended up being a corroded plug near the brake light switch. That's why I suggested checking it first. Honestly, without proper diagnostics, it's tough to pinpoint. A faulty clock spring or issues with the steering wheel controls could also be to blame. Best bet is to get it hooked up to a diagnostic tool. A workshop will find the fault much quicker.

You were spot on! Turns out it was a dodgy connection. Workshop found it quick, cleaned it up, and cruise control is back in action. 95€ well spent. Thanks again for the help!

I had a similar issue with my old BMW 3 Series. Cruise control just packed it in. Have you checked the brake light switch? A faulty one can mess with the cruise control system. Also, maybe have a look at the speed sensor? If the system isn't getting a speed reading, it won't engage.
