Seat Formentor Diesel Battery Sensor Problem
Summary of the thread
A 2022 Seat Formentor diesel owner reported battery issues, including weak startups and flickering lights, suspecting a faulty battery sensor causing low voltage readings. Another participant shared a similar experience with a different vehicle, where a faulty voltage sensor was the culprit, not the battery itself. Diagnostics confirmed the faulty sensor, leading to its replacement, resolving the issue.

That's interesting. So, the car battery was actually fine in your case? Just a bad reading from the voltage sensor causing the low voltage issues?

Correct. The car battery itself was healthy. The voltage sensor was sending incorrect data, causing the system to think the car battery was low. I'd suggest getting vehicle diagnostics done to confirm the issue. It is possible there's an underlying problem, but it does sound like the voltage sensor. Like a faulty thermostat giving you the wrong temperature reading.

Vehicle diagnostics confirmed the voltage sensor was faulty. Replacement cost me 315€. Thanks for the insight, much appreciated.

Sounds familiar. Had a similar issue with my older Volvo a while back. Weak battery symptoms and flickering lights. Turned out to be a faulty voltage sensor on the battery. Is the battery voltage reading low even after a decent drive?
