Seat Formentor Diesel rough running

Hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I've got a 2022 Seat Formentor with a diesel engine, done about 117085 km. Recently, it's been running rough, feels like reduced engine power, and jerks a bit when accelerating. There's also a loud hissing sound when I accelerate, and I've noticed higher fuel consumption. The engine light is on. I'm suspecting it's the intake manifold flap control that's faulty. Has anyone else had similar problems with the air intake?

Sounds like you've got the same issue I had with my old Vauxhall Astra! Reduced power and jerky acceleration, plus this weird hissing sound when I put my foot down. Have you checked for any error codes using an OBD2 scanner? That's how I found out it was something to do with the air intake.

Yeah, I did get a code related to airflow control. You mentioned air intake – was it definitely the intake manifold flap control switch, or could it be something else in the air intake system?

Definitely sounds like the intake manifold flap control. On the Astra, the error code pointed to the air intake, but the actual problem was the flap itself. It's probably best to get it checked by a workshop, just to be 100% sure, but I'd bet that's the culprit.

Took it to the workshop, and you were spot on. They confirmed it was the intake manifold flap control. Cost me 465€ to get it sorted. Runs like new now, thanks for the help!
