Seat Formentor Hybrid Engine Issues

Alright, so my Seat Formentor, build year is and it has a hybrid engine, is giving me grief. It has a lot of km on the clock. The check engine light is on, and it's jerking when I accelerate. Plus, there's this whistling and loud hissing noise coming from somewhere when I put my foot down. Sometimes it even stalls at idle. Fuel consumption is up too, and the engine just feels weak. I'm thinking it's something to do with the turbo system, maybe a bad pressure sensor? Could it be the intake manifold? I read that a defective cable or plug connection might be the cause. Any ideas?

Whoa, sounds like a real headache! The symptoms you're describing – check engine light, jerking, whistling, stalling – definitely point to a problem in the air intake or turbo system. A bad boost pressure sensor could definitely be the culprit, throwing off the engine's air-fuel mixture. Is the whistling noise constant, or does it change with engine speed? Have you checked the air intake for any obvious cracks or loose connections? It's like when a plumber has a leak – gotta trace it back to the source!

When you say 'loose connection,' what exactly am I looking for? I had a quick look but couldn't see anything obvious. What does the sensor even look like?

Okay, so the whistling getting louder with engine speed strengthens my suspicion about air intake and the pressure sensor. The hissing could be air escaping. As for the 'loose connection', I'm referring to the cable or plug that connects to the boost pressure sensor. Check for any cracked wires, corrosion, or a connector that isn't fully seated. The sensor itself is usually a small, rectangular device plugged into the intake manifold or near the turbo system. Honestly, with those symptoms, and that mileage I would recommend taking it to a workshop. They'll be able to diagnose it properly and confirm if it's the sensor or something else entirely.

Cheers for the help. I took it to a garage, and they found a loose connection on the boost pressure sensor, exactly as you said. They charged me 95€ to fix it. Runs like new again.
