Seat Formentor hybrid engine issues

Okay, so I'm seriously stressing out here. My 2023 Seat Formentor hybrid is giving me grief. It's done like 184825 km. The engine is running super rough, like it wants to jump out of the hood, especially when it's idling. And sometimes, it just plain stalls! Plus, the check engine light is mocking me from the dashboard. It also feels like it's jerking like crazy when I accelerate. I did some reading and I'm thinking it might be the ignition coil, maybe a bad cable or something? Anyone else had this?

I had a similar issue with my Vauxhall Astra a few years back. The symptoms you describe sound very familiar. Rough running, engine stalling – classic signs. When was the last time you changed your spark plugs? A failing spark plug can cause a misfire, which would trigger the check engine light.

Spark plugs, huh? I've never changed those myself, to be honest. What's a misfire exactly? And could that really make the engine stall completely?

A misfire is when one or more of your engine's cylinders isn't firing properly. This can happen for a number of reasons, but a faulty ignition coil or a bad spark plug are common culprits. And yes, a misfire can absolutely cause stalling, especially at idle when the engine is under less load. Given your mileage and the symptoms, I'd strongly recommend getting it checked by a professional. It could be a simple fix, but it's best not to risk further damage.

Okay, so I took your advice and went to the local garage. Turns out it WAS a dodgy connection on the ignition coil! They sorted it out, new plug and everything, cost me about 95€. Engine's running smooth as butter now. Thanks a million for the help!
