Seat Formentor Hybrid Generator Problem
Summary of the thread
The 2023 Seat Formentor hybrid is experiencing reduced engine power, a warning light, poor starting, and flickering lights, indicating a potential generator problem. These symptoms suggest a defective alternator, possibly due to a worn or loose serpentine belt. It is recommended to have the vehicle inspected by a professional to confirm the issue and address it, as was done, resulting in the replacement of the alternator and serpentine belt.

Serpentine belt? I haven't checked that. Where is that located and how would I know if its worn? Is it related to the alternator?

The serpentine belt drives the alternator. If it's cracked or loose, the alternator won't charge the battery properly, leading to all those symptoms. Honestly, it's probably best to get it checked by a professional, especially with the hybrid system and all the sensitive car electronics involved. A battery low warning can also cause a myriad of issues.

Just wanted to share that the workshop confirmed the generator issue. The alternator replacement plus a new serpentine belt came out to 960€. Thanks for your advice!

Sounds like an alternator issue indeed. I had similar symptoms with my BMW a while back – reduced power, warning lights, the whole shebang. Did you check the serpentine belt? A worn belt can cause the alternator to underperform.
