Seat Formentor keyless access malfunction

Alright, I'm stumped. My 2021 Seat Formentor (diesel engine) is giving me grief. The keyless access stopped working suddenly. I've got almost 200000 km on the clock. VCDS scan shows an error related to the door handle electronics. The report suggests a possible cable or plug connection issue with the component itself. Anyone seen this before?

Sounds like a frustrating issue. I had something similar with my electric door on a 2018 Volvo. Keyless entry stopped working, and the error codes pointed to a sensor issue. Have you checked the wiring harness that connects to the door handle? Sometimes those connections can corrode or become loose.

Thanks for the quick reply. When you say 'wiring harness', do you mean the big plug that connects the door to the car's body? Or is there another one specifically for the door handle itself?

Yes, I was referring to the smaller connector that goes directly into the door handle. It controls the door mechanism and the sensor for the keyless entry. If you can, try disconnecting it, inspecting the pins for corrosion, and reconnecting it firmly. But honestly, given the error message, a workshop might be the best bet to properly diagnose the wiring fault.

Took it to the shop, and you were spot on. Wiring fault in the electric door handle. 95€ and it's fixed. Thanks for the advice!
