Seat Formentor Overheating Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2022 Seat Formentor with a gasoline engine is experiencing overheating issues, and the check engine light is on. The initial suspicion is a problem with the radiator fan, possibly due to a defective fan blade. Another potential cause mentioned is the thermal switch. Ultimately, the issue was identified as a faulty speed sensor, which was replaced, resolving the overheating problem.

Fan noise, yeah, I think I noticed something like that a while back, but didn't pay it much attention. Where is the thermal switch located? Is it easy to check?

If there was fan noise and the car overheating, it does sound like the same issue I had. I'm no expert, but it's probably best to get it checked by a workshop. Car overheating is never good.

Cheers for the advice! Turns out it was the speed sensor. New one fitted, bill came to about 250€. Car's running cool as a cucumber now.

I own a Formentor as well and think I may have had a similar experience. Was there any strange fan noise beforehand, like a whirring sound, and was the car overheating frequently? Could it also be the thermal switch?
