Seat Formentor Oxygen Sensor Issue

I am writing to report an issue with my 2022 Seat Formentor featuring a diesel engine. The vehicle has accumulated 128011 km. The malfunction indicator is active, and the check engine light is illuminated. Diagnostic checks indicate an oxygen sensor heater failure, potentially due to a defective cable or plug connection. Fuel consumption has also increased. I wanted to know if anyone has experienced a similar issue.

The oxygen sensor heater failure can indeed cause the symptoms you described. I experienced a similar problem with my 2018 Volvo V90. The check engine light illuminated, and a diagnostic scan revealed a faulty sensor. Have you performed any sensor testing to confirm the faulty sensor?

Thank you for your response. Regarding sensor testing, could you elaborate on the specific tests you carried out on your Volvo to pinpoint the faulty sensor and heater element? Also, what was the eventual repair cost?

In my case, the error memory pointed specifically to the heater element within the oxygen sensor as being defective. I did not perform the repair myself. I suggest visiting a workshop for sensor testing. The eventual repair cost for my Volvo was comparable to the 95€ you mentioned; however, I advise obtaining a precise estimate beforehand from your mechanic.

I appreciate your assistance. The defective oxygen sensor has been identified and replaced. The total cost, including sensor testing and labor, amounted to 95€. The malfunction indicator is now off.
