That's interesting! You reckon it's worth having a look myself before taking it to the garage? Is it easy to get to the wiring for the rear sensors? I'm reasonably handy, but don't want to start ripping things apart if it's a nightmare!

Yeah, definitely sounds familiar. On my Ateca, I tried to find it myself but access was tricky without proper tools and ramps, plus I didn't want to make things worse. The garage diagnosed it quickly and fixed the faulty wiring in no time. Cost me about the same as your quote. Might be worth just getting them to take a look. Saves you the hassle and potential for further damage!

Awesome, that really gives me some hope! I've booked it in with the local garage for next week. Hopefully, it will be a simple fix like yours was! Thanks a lot for your help; I'll let you know how it goes.

Hey there! I had a similar issue with my Seat Ateca. The parking assist went completely bonkers! It turned out to be a faulty connection in the wiring harness for the rear obstacle detection. Have you checked the wiring and plugs around the parking sensors themselves, especially at the back? Also, does your rearview camera work? If that's affected too, it could point to a common wiring issue. Blind spot sensors are probably on the same circuit, too. Have you checked those?
