Seat heating issue in Leon

Hi, I've got a problem with the seat heating in my 2023 Seat Leon (hybrid engine). The seat heating doesn't get warm at all. I've scanned the car with my OBD tool and there's an error stored in the error memory related to the seat heating. From what I've read, the likely cause is a defective seat heating mat. Before I go ahead and replace it, I wanted to see if anyone else has experienced a similar issue. The estimated repair cost is around 390€. Any thoughts or suggestions before I potentially start ripping apart the seat cushion to get to the heating element?

Hey there! I had a similar problem with my Leon. The seat heating was completely dead. I think it's a common issue. Did you check the thermal sensor readings with VCDS or another diagnostic tool? Sometimes, a faulty sensor can trigger the error even if the heating element is fine. However, if there's no heat at all, it's probably the heating element in the seat cushion itself.

Thanks for the reply! When you say 'similar problem', do you mean you also had an error stored in the error memory specifically pointing to the seat heating? Also, did yours eventually turn out to be the heating element, or was it something else?

Yes, the error in the memory was specifically for the seat heating circuit. In my case, it was indeed the heating element itself that had failed. No shorts or anything, just open circuit. I'd recommend having a workshop confirm it, but it sounds like you're on the right track.

Thanks for the confirmation. Took it to the workshop and they confirmed the seat heating mat was indeed defective. Ended up costing 390€ for the replacement. Appreciate the help!
