Seat Ibiza Active Hood Fault

Interesting. The hood latch functionality seems normal upon visual inspection. However, your mention of a sensor influencing the airbag system is intriguing. Could you elaborate on how the hood latch sensor on your Megane was connected to the airbag system and pedestrian safety features? I'm trying to understand the logic behind such a connection.

Okay, so the hood latch sensor on the Megane was part of the pedestrian impact safety system. Apparently, if the car thinks the hood is open (due to a faulty sensor), it disables or alters the airbag deployment parameters to prevent injury to someone who might be working under the hood. I'm not saying it's definitely the hood latch on your Ibiza, especially since you've already had a diagnostic pointing to the acceleration sensor, but the symptoms were eerily similar. Given the triggered actuators and error codes, I think you are on the right track with the acceleration sensor. I would suggest going to a workshop.

Thank you for sharing your experience. The diagnosis was indeed a defective acceleration sensor. Replacing it, including labor, amounted to 315€. Problem solved.

Whoa, that sounds familiar! I had a similar issue on my older Renault Megane, although the specific error message was slightly different. The airbag light and a generic 'check system' warning were constantly on. Did you check the hood latch? On my car, a faulty hood latch sensor was causing a similar cascade of errors because the car thought the hood was always open, messing with the pedestrian safety system. It's a long shot, but worth a look before diving into more complex stuff.
