I appreciate the suggestion. Could you please provide more detail on which specific connections I should inspect? I do not want to inadvertently damage any components of the car safety system.

Certainly. In my case with the Volvo, the mechanic showed me that the plugs under the seats, specifically those connected to the airbag sensor, were not fully seated. They are typically bright yellow. Gently try pushing them together to ensure a firm connection. However, if you are not comfortable doing so, I would strongly recommend taking the vehicle to a qualified workshop. Dealing with the airbag system requires caution to avoid accidental deployment.

Thank you for the detailed information. I followed your advice and took the vehicle to a certified workshop. It turned out to be a defective plug connection, as suspected. The restraint system is now functioning correctly. The repair cost was 95€.

That sounds concerning! I had a similar issue with my Volvo a few years ago. The SRS light illuminated intermittently, and it turned out to be a faulty airbag sensor in the passenger seat. Before taking it to a workshop, have you checked the wiring harness under the seats? Sometimes, moving the seats can loosen the connections.
