Seat Ibiza Climate Control Panel Dead

I am officially frustrated. My 2009 Seat Ibiza with a gasoline engine has a climate control problem. The panel is completely dead. I scanned it and there's an error stored, plus the heating is weak and the air conditioning won't switch on at all. I suspect a defective cable or plug connection. Mileage is 132300 km. Any ideas?

Summary of the thread

The climate control panel in a 2009 Seat Ibiza was completely non-functional, with weak heating and non-operational air conditioning. The issue was suspected to be due to a defective cable or plug connection. It was suggested to check the electrical connectors and the fuse for the blower motor, as these cars are known for electronic faults. The problem was resolved by cleaning a corroded electrical connector in the wiring harness, restoring the climate control panel's functionality.

I had a similar issue with my Seat Ibiza, although mine is a bit older. The air conditioning stopped working, and the heating was weak. Have you checked the electrical connectors going to the climate control panel and the blower motor? Those Ibizas are known for electronic faults and problems with the wiring harness. It could be a simple fix like cleaning or replacing a corroded connector. Also, have you checked the fuse for the blower motor?

Where exactly should I be looking for these electrical connectors? Is it something I can access myself, or will I need to take apart the dashboard?

The connectors are usually behind the center console. You might be able to reach them by removing the radio, but honestly, it's a bit fiddly. If you're not comfortable taking apart the dashboard, I'd recommend taking it to a workshop. It's probably a simple fix, and they should be able to diagnose it quickly. It was indeed a defective wiring harness in my case.

Took it to a local workshop, and they found a corroded electrical connector in the wiring harness, just like you said. They cleaned it, and the climate control panel works perfectly now. Total cost was 95€, so I am very happy. Thanks again for your help!
