Seat Ibiza cruise control malfunction

I have a 2019 Seat Ibiza with a gasoline engine that has an issue: the cruise control system has ceased to function. Diagnostic interrogation reveals an error stored within the error memory, suggesting a fault within the system. Based on preliminary investigation, the most probable cause appears to be a defective cable or plug connection within the component assembly. I am curious if any other owner has had a similar issue before I spend time checking the speed sensor or even the pedal switch.

I had a similar issue with my Ibiza. The cruise control just stopped working one day, and it turned out to be a faulty pedal switch. Have you checked the brake light switch? Sometimes, a faulty switch there can also disable the cruise control system. It's a simple thing to check before diving into more complex diagnostics. I hope this helps!

That is interesting, thank you. When you say 'similar issue' do you also mean that there was an error stored in the error memory? Also, did you by any chance also check the throttle position or the speed sensor?

Yes, there was an error code stored. I did not check the throttle position or speed sensor myself; I took it directly to a workshop. It's likely a similar issue and I would advise you to do the same.

Thank you for confirming my suspicions and sharing your experience. I took it to a trusted workshop, and as suspected, it was indeed a defective connection within the cruise control system. The invoice came to 95€, covering the diagnostic and repair. Now, the cruise control is functioning flawlessly again.
