Seat Ibiza Diesel Glow Plug Issue

I'm reporting a problem with my 2017 Seat Ibiza diesel. It has 135107 km on it. The preheating lamp in the instrument cluster stays on after starting the engine, and an error is stored. I think it's a defective glow plug. Any guidance?

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my old Renault Megane diesel. The check engine light was on, and it was hard to start when it was cold. Is the check engine light on in your Seat Ibiza? When the glow plugs fail, it's like trying to start a fire with wet wood, the engine struggles, especially in cold weather. Have you noticed any engine misfire during cold starts?

Thank you for your response. The check engine light is illuminated. What specific symptoms should I observe to confirm engine misfire?

Yes, that's very similar to what I experienced. My Renault had the same symptoms, prolonged cranking, rough idling initially, and the check engine light. Given the symptoms and error code, a defective glow plug is likely. Given your limited experience, I suggest consulting a technician for diagnosis and repair to avoid complications. The final bill was around the same amount for me. It's a specialized job.

I appreciate the assistance. A technician confirmed the glow plug was defective. The replacement cost 440€, but the issue is resolved. Thanks again.
