Seat Ibiza Electric Steering Column Problem

I'm having trouble with the electric steering column adjustment on my 2008 Seat Ibiza diesel. It's stopped working, and the error memory shows a fault. I can't adjust the steering column electrically. I'm guessing it's a bad cable or plug. The car has 150464 km. Has anyone else run into this?

That sounds familiar. My Ibiza had the same problem with the electric steering column. Check the cable connections under the steering wheel, that's where the issue was for me.

Thanks for the quick response. Can you tell me where to find the cable connections? Is it easy to get to, or do I need to remove panels?

The symptoms are the same as what I experienced. My connector was loose. Remove the plastic cover under the steering wheel, it's held by a few screws. If you don't want to do that, a workshop can sort it out quickly and inexpensively.

The workshop visit confirmed a faulty connector. A replacement fixed the electric steering column adjustment! The cost was 95€, thanks for the assistance.
