Seat Ibiza Engine Fault Code Issue
Summary of the thread
A Seat Ibiza from 2021 with a gasoline engine displayed an error message and illuminated engine light, with a diagnostic check revealing a fault code potentially due to incorrect vehicle coding. The issue was resolved by recalibrating the ECU, which cleared the error messages and engine light. It is suggested to have the vehicle checked at a reputable workshop if similar coding issues arise.

Yes, I used an OBD-II scan tool and got a fault code related to the ECU. Did the recalibration fix it permanently for you? Any other issues cropped up later?

Yep, recalibration did the trick. The workshop suspected incorrect coding from the start. I remember thinking 'Oh great, here we go again' when the engine light first appeared. But, so far so good after the fix. If the diagnostic scanner points to coding, I'd suggest getting it checked at a reputable workshop.

Just got the Seat back. They recalibrated the ECU, and it seems the coding was off. The engine light is gone and error messages disappeared. Cost me 360€. Thanks for the help!

Whoa, that sounds eerily familiar! I had a similar thing happen with my Ibiza. The engine light popped on, and the infotainment screen went nuts with error messages. Did you use a diagnostic scanner to pull the fault code?
