Interesting. With the Astra, was it visibly loose, or did you need to do some deeper digging to find the problem? I've given the connections a quick look, but nothing obvious stands out.

In my case, it wasn't immediately obvious. There was some corrosion and a slight looseness. After cleaning the terminals and tightening them, the problem disappeared. If you've checked and still nothing, it might be best to take it to a workshop for a proper diagnosis.

You were spot on! I cleaned the battery terminals, tightened everything, and it fired right up. The engine light is gone too. Cost me 155€ at the workshop, but it was worth it to avoid a tow. Thanks for the help!

I had a similar issue with my old Opel Astra. The engine wouldn't start, and the check engine light was on. Have you checked the battery cable connections? A loose or corroded connection can cause those symptoms.
