Seat Ibiza Headlight Range Problem

I'm cheesed off with my 2013 Seat Ibiza diesel! The headlight range control is playing up. Error stored in the error memory and a warning light's constantly on the speedometer. The low beam is either pointing way too high or too low. Mileage is at 130211 km. Any ideas?

Headlight range control faults can be tricky. Have you checked the electrical connectors to the headlights themselves? Sometimes a loose or corroded connection can cause issues with the auto-leveling system. Also, is the error consistently present, or does it come and go?

I've given the electrical connectors a quick look, nothing obviously wrong, but could it really be something that simple? And yeah, the error is always there now, the warning light never goes off.

Given that the error is consistently present, and you've visually inspected the connectors, it does seem likely that the servomotor within the headlight unit is faulty. This is a common issue. A proper diagnostic check at a workshop is advisable to confirm this and avoid unnecessary replacements within the lighting system.

Huge thanks for the insights! Took it to a workshop and you were spot on. Defective servomotor in the headlight. Cost me a hefty 1040€ to sort out, but at least it's fixed.
