Seat Ibiza Keyless Access Problem

I've got a bit of a problem with my 2019 Seat Ibiza diesel. The keyless access has suddenly stopped working. I'm getting an error message related to the door handle electronics, but I'm not sure where to start looking. Could it be a faulty door handle, or something more sinister with the locking system? Anyone else experienced this kind of electric door issue? The error log points towards a defective cable or plug connection of the component

Sounds like a familiar problem. Have you checked the wiring loom that goes into the door? They are known for getting damaged over time, causing issues with the door electronics. Also, is there any sign of corrosion on the plug connection to the door actuator? That could definitely mess with the electric door and keyless access.

Thanks for the quick reply! I haven't checked the wiring loom myself. Where exactly is that located, and is it easy to get to? Also, how would I check for corrosion on the plug connection? Just a visual inspection, or do I need some kind of tester?

The wiring loom runs between the door frame and the door itself, usually protected by a rubber boot. Have a look for any obvious signs of damage to the wires or the boot. Corrosion on the plug connection will be visible as green or white deposits. A visual inspection should be enough to spot it. However, given the error message and symptoms, it's most likely a wiring or connection issue within the door electronics. If you're not comfortable doing the work yourself, a workshop will be able to diagnose and fix it.

Just wanted to let you know. The workshop checked the door electronics and found a dodgy connection in the door handle. 95€ later, the locking system is working perfectly again. Thanks for your help!
