Seat Ibiza Oil Pressure Warning
Summary of the thread
A 2012 Seat Ibiza with a diesel engine displayed an oil pressure warning, despite the oil level being adequate. The oil appeared dark, resembling black coffee, which suggested oil sludge due to exceeding the maintenance interval. The recommended solution was to visit a workshop for an oil change, filter replacement, and engine flush, which resolved the issue and cleared the warning light.

Black coffee is a good analogy! Yes, that's exactly what it looks like. I thought it was just old oil. Could this really be because I went over the maintenance interval? Is there anything else that can cause this?

Yep, going over the interval is the likely culprit. Especially with diesels, oil can degrade quickly. It's not always an oil leak, but you need to get it sorted fast. I'd recommend taking it to a workshop; they can check the oil pressure properly and flush the engine if needed. Don't risk driving it too much like that.

Took it to a workshop, and you were spot on. Seems like the extended maintenance messed things up. New oil filter, oil change, and a flush later, the light's gone. Cost me 165€, but better than a new engine I guess. Thanks for the help!

Sounds like oil sludge to me. Have you checked the oil color and consistency? Does it look like black coffee instead of honey? I had a similar issue with my Ibiza. When was your last oil change?
