Seat Ibiza outside temperature sensor issue

Hi, I have a 2007 Seat Ibiza with a diesel engine. I'm having problems with the outside temperature sensor. There's an error code, the AC won't turn on, the windscreen washer nozzles are frozen when it's cold, and the mirror heating isn't working. Could it be a defective cable or plug connection to the component?

I had a similar issue with my Ibiza. The symptoms you describe are quite telling. Have you checked the wiring and the connector to the vehicle temperature sensor? It's often the culprit. Give it a look and see if the connector is properly seated. Are you experiencing any issues with other systems that rely on temperature data, such as the engine management?

Where exactly is the vehicle temperature sensor located? And is it difficult to check the wiring myself?

The sensor is typically located behind the front bumper, near the fog lights. Checking the wiring involves visually inspecting the cable for damage (cuts, abrasions) and ensuring the connector is clean and firmly attached to the sensor. While you can inspect it yourself, bear in mind that without diagnostic tools, one can only go so far. If you are unsure, I recommend seeking assistance from a workshop. That is what I did back then. They should be able to diagnose any issues with the sensor or wiring and advise on a course of action.

Thanks a lot for the help, I took it to a workshop, and you were right. It was a faulty connection. They fixed it for 95€. Now everything is working as expected.
