I had a similar issue with my Ibiza. Rough idle, check engine light, and all. For me, it turned out to be a faulty ignition coil. Have you checked those? Also, how's your throttle response?

I haven't checked the ignition coils myself. Where are they located, and is it something I can test myself without special tools?

Yeah, sounds super familiar. The ignition coils sit on top of the spark plugs. You can try swapping them around to see if the misfire moves to a different cylinder. If it does, then bingo! But honestly, if you're not super confident, it might be worth getting a mechanic to take a look. Could also be something else, like a bad spark plug. If the check engine light is on, they can pull the error codes to be sure.

I took the Ibiza to the workshop, and they confirmed it was indeed a faulty injector. The repair cost me around 515€. Engine runs smoothly now. Thanks for your help!
