Seat Ibiza sound system failure

I'm at my wit's end with my 2003 Seat Ibiza Gasoline. The sound system has gone completely kaput. I scanned it, and there's an error stored, but no sound whatsoever. I'm suspecting it could be the display that's causing the problem, but I'm not 100% sure. Has anyone else run into anything similar with their Ibiza's head unit? The sound quality was never amazing, but now it's non-existent!

That sucks! I had something similar happen in my old Fiat Punto. The whole sound system just died, and there was an error code too. Have you checked the fuses? Stupid question I know but it's always worth a shot. In my case, it turned out to be a faulty display, which messed everything up. Could barely use the dashboard controls because of it. Really affected the audio quality when it actually worked! Drove me nuts trying to adjust the volume control.

Interesting! Faulty display affecting the whole audio system? How did you figure that out? And did it completely kill the sound, or was it more of an intermittent thing?

Yeah, it was a nightmare! It started with the sound cutting out randomly, then the display got all glitchy. Eventually, it just died completely. My mechanic diagnosed it as the display unit shorting something out, which took down the whole audio system. To be honest, it's probably best to get it checked out by a professional. They'll be able to pinpoint the exact cause.

It was the head unit as suspected. Cost around 725€ to get it sorted. At least my Seat Ibiza's sound system is back in business. Thanks for the heads up about the similar issue!
