Seat Ibiza transmission issue
Summary of the thread
A 2007 Seat Ibiza experienced transmission issues, including an engine warning light, error related to the transmission oil pressure sensor, emergency mode, slipping, and grinding noises. The problem was potentially linked to low transmission oil levels. The suggested solution was to check and top up the transmission oil and replace the pressure switch, which resolved the issue.

Yes, the error message says something about 'Transmission oil pressure sensor fault'. Where exactly did you check the oil level?

My apologies, I don't remember the exact location where the mechanic checked the oil level. However, yes, the error sounds exactly like what I experienced. I strongly advise you to take it to a workshop. It's better to have it professionally diagnosed to avoid further damage to the transmission. It could be just the pressure switch, but it's worth checking the oil level first.

Thanks for the help. It was indeed the transmission oil level. I went to the workshop, they topped it up and replaced the pressure switch. Cost me 365€. Everything seems fine now.

Hello. I had similar Transmission issues with my Ibiza some time ago, although I don't remember the exact symptoms. It might be the oil sensor, which is a common Transmission sensor failure. Have you checked the gearbox oil level? That was the cause in my case. Is the error message related to the oil pressure?
