Hmm, interesting. How would I check the belt tensioner myself? And if it is a refrigerant leak, is there any way to find it without special equipment? I'm trying to avoid a huge bill, you know?

Honestly, checking the belt tensioner without experience can be tricky. And finding a refrigerant leak is usually a job for a professional with specialized tools. It could be something simple, but with the error code pointing to the compressor and the A/C system not turning on, it might be more than just a quick fix. Maybe it's best to get it checked by a qualified mechanic to avoid further damage to the A/C system.

You know what, I think you're right. I just took it to a local mechanic, and they found undervoltage in the system. They are replacing some faulty wiring and doing a recharge of the A/C system. Quoted me 240€, which seems reasonable. Thanks a lot for your help!

A/C issues are the worst! Is the compressor clutch engaging at all? Maybe check the belt tensioner – a loose belt could cause the compressor to not run properly. Also, could be a refrigerant leak somewhere in the HVAC system, dropping the pressure too low for the pressure sensor to allow it to kick on. I am not sure though, just guessing!
