Seat Inca AC Problems

My 2001 Seat Inca with a gasoline engine is giving me headaches. The air conditioning has stopped working. The error memory has some code stored and a warning light in the speedometer is on. I suspect it could be an AC compressor issue. I've noticed the air conditioning no longer cools, and it doesn't even switch on at all. I've read somewhere that the air conditioning control unit might be defective, or could this be a refrigerant leak maybe The car has 190190 km on it.

Faulty AC compressor on a Seat Inca That's rough Is the compressor engaging at all Even with a refrigerant leak, sometimes you'll still hear a click as the system tries to kick in. Have you checked the AC compressor relay and fuses A blown fuse is a super easy fix.

Yeah, if the AC system isn't even attempting to switch on, and you've got a warning light, it's pointing away from simple things like a refrigerant leak. The fact that there's an error code stored makes the defective control unit diagnosis more plausible. Honestly, with those symptoms, I'd take it to a workshop that specializes in car air conditioning repair. They have the tools to properly diagnose it.

Good thought about the relay and fuses. Where exactly would I find those to check And how would I know if the AC compressor is engaging I'm not really mechanically inclined.

Just to let you know, it was the AC control unit. Cost 980€ to fix. Not great, but at least I have cold air again. Thanks for the assistance.
