Seat Inca Air Conditioning Problems
Summary of the thread
A 2002 Seat Inca diesel is experiencing air conditioning issues, with a faulty temperature sensor in the heat exchanger suspected. An error message appears on the speedometer, and the air conditioning system won't activate. The problem is confirmed by the error memory, and after further investigation, it is determined that the air conditioning control unit is defective. The suggested solution is to have the vehicle diagnosed and repaired at a workshop, which successfully resolves the issue.

A faulty air conditioning control unit? I was leaning towards a simple sensor issue. Did you also see the 'Error stored in error memory' message in the speedometer? How did you pinpoint the AC control unit?

The error message was there too. I initially thought it was just a bad sensor, but I was told this issue points to the air conditioning control unit being defective. Honestly, it's beyond my skill set. I suggest taking it to a workshop, they'll have the diagnostic tools to confirm it.

After checking everything, I took it to a workshop. It turns out the air conditioning control unit was the problem, just like you thought! It cost me 980€, but at least the Inca's running cool. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

That sounds like a headache! I had a similar issue with my Inca. My temperature gauge was acting up, and the air con wouldn't kick in either. Did you notice any coolant leak?
