Seat Inca central locking malfunction

Central locking on my 2002 Seat Inca with a gasoline engine has completely given up. Doors won't lock or unlock. VCDS is showing an error. I'm suspecting a defective cable or plug connection in the locking mechanism. Has anyone had something similar?

Central locking issues are the worst! I had something similar happen with my old Fiesta, although that was the car alarm going haywire at 3 AM. Have you checked the key fob battery? Sometimes a weak battery can cause weird issues with the door locks. Is your keyless entry playing up too, or just the regular door locks?

Key fob battery is new, already checked that. Keyless entry isn't a feature on this Inca unfortunately. Any ideas on which plug connection I should be checking first?

If the error code points towards a wiring issue, it probably is. Honestly, tracing those wires can be a real pain. Without the proper tools, you might end up doing more harm than good. Best bet is probably a workshop; they have the right equipment to pinpoint the fault.

Took the Inca to the shop, and they confirmed a defective connection as suspected. 95€ later, central locking is working again! Thanks for the insights.
