Seat Inca Diesel Engine Trouble
Summary of the thread
A 2000 Seat Inca with a diesel engine is experiencing rough running and a check engine light, with an error indicating "reset quantity drift compensation." The suspected cause is a faulty injection valve or injector. A similar issue was resolved by replacing the faulty injector and resetting the drift compensation system, which restored the vehicle's performance.

When you had the issue with your Cordoba, did the error memory also mention the injection valve as the probable cause, or did you replace the car sensors first?

The error code pointed towards the injectors. Before replacing them, the mechanic suggested a system reset and cleaning, but that didn't solve it. Replacing the injector fixed the issue, but required a drift compensation system reset afterwards. I'd recommend taking it to a workshop to confirm, but it sounds like a very similar issue.

Thanks for your input. I took it to my mechanic, and it turned out that the injector on cylinder 3 was indeed faulty. I replaced it, reset the drift compensation, and she's running great again. It cost me 515€, but it was worth it to have my Inca back on the road.

Rough running and check engine light? Sounds familiar. I had something similar happen with my Seat Cordoba. Have you checked your car sensors, especially the airflow sensors? Sometimes a faulty sensor can mess with the fuel economy and trigger the drift compensation error.
